Hello

I love this community.

I was raised on a hobby farm in Asphodel and was an active participant in the local figure skating and curling clubs, as well as being involved in the Norwood District High School student council and drama club.

My interest in government was piqued during the 1988 Federal Election and I remember working on a school report discussing the election. A couple of years later I had the privilege of being a Legislative Page at Queen's Park and enjoyed being on the floor to observe the debates and see democracy in action.

After graduating from Norwood District High School and Bishop's University in southeastern Quebec, I moved to London, England, where I worked in communications, administrative and support roles within the energy industry, the public service sector and private banking. I lived in a crowded, busy, urban environment.

My husband, Andrew and I had our first two children in London. After the eldest was approaching school age we decided we wanted them to be raised in a smaller community. We wanted fresh air and good schools and decided that moving back home to Asphodel-Norwood was a great idea. We began the immigration process for my husband to receive his Permanent Resident status and packed up our possessions and shipped them home.

A few months after we arrived, our eldest daughter was able to start Junior Kindergarten at Norwood District Public School, our son began Hucklebug in the Toddler room and our youngest daughter was born in the Peterborough Regional Health Centre.

That was twelve years ago - now my youngest daughter is starting her next chapter as she enters Norwood District Intermediate School. 

After serving four years as a Councillor in Asphodel-Norwood I feel ready to begin my next chapter as Mayor. A Mayor with Vision, one who seeks to Engage with the community, create a sustainable, achievable Plan and set it into Action.
