Candidate for Mayor, Township of Asphodel-Norwood

I beleve in the democratic process. The values of a transparent, honest and active democracy are essential to our community.

I will be a Mayor who listens to constituents and helps all residents and business owners of Asphodel-Norwood feel heard. I will encourage community collaboration as we Engage on a new Strategic Plan, leverage the valuable, and existing Township department plans into a clear course of Action. Let's create a shared Vision for the next term of Council, and chart a clear course to future sustainability and growth.

I will lead Council meetings and attend public engagements and meet my responsibilities with professionalism, empathy and compassion. As a sitting Council member, I have the understanding of the ongoing issues of our municipality.

I am focused on leadership, engagement and collaboration with the community to create a new Strategic Plan. Leading a process that truly engages and seeks out the opinions of residents and using the Strategic Plan to guide and communicate clear priorities for the next term of Council.

The Township has a great set of existing plans, an Asset Management Plan, Capital Plan, Surface Treatment Plan, Sidewalk Plan - we have the plans - we need the focus to prioritise and implement the plans. We need to look at a four year Council term with a holistic vision to repair, maintain and upgrade our assets and infrastructure in a sustainable way that is clearly communicated. We need to manage growth and look for innovative solutions to leverage partnerships to unlock provincial funding to support the Medical Centre and doctor recruitment.

Everything you need to know to vote in the Asphodel-Norwood Municipal Elections.

Meeting you. In all seasons.

Making time throughout my term as Councillor, to be available in person.

Spring.

Before the weeds were pulled, and the garden planted I was meeting with residents.

Summer.

As the flowers bloomed, I set out my sign and welcomed residents for more coffee, tea and conversation.

Autumn.

As the plants gave us the last of their blooms and the harvest season unfolded, I was there meeting with residents, and making new friends.

Winter.

A hot pot of tea shared with residents, non-residents, people who wanted someone who would listen. I was there.
